About Grace Episcopal Church
A faithful Episcopal presence in Hopkinsville Kentucky for over 175 years, Grace Church is located in downtown Hopkinsville in the Diocese of Kentucky. While our history is significant, Grace Church is open to newcomers and visitors and to all who are seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Grace Church is Eucharistically centered and represents the broad liturgical tradition of the Episcopal Church. It is a parish where people are drawn to know Christ and to make Christ known.
The parish has been characterized by dedicated lay leadership which continues in the church today. Grace Church reaches out to the community through outreach ministry and in special programs that enrich the life of Hopkinsville. During the school year, Choral Evensong is usually sung on the third Sunday evening of the month at 5 PM. In December, we host a popular Madrigal Feast over three evenings. During the season of Lent on the six Fridays before Easter, Grace Church hosts a Lenten Service of Noonday Prayer and Homily. Each Friday, a guest preacher speaks at the service at noon. Luncheon follows the service in All Saints’ Parish Hall.
On Sundays, the Holy Eucharist is celebrated at 9:30 a.m. A nursery is available for infants ages three and under. A Children’s Chapel meets during the middle of the service where children from ages four through twelve hear the gospel lesson in age appropriate context, sing, and work together on crafts. The Children’s Chapel group rejoins the 9:30 a.m. Eucharist at the Peace. The Sunday Forum meets at 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Sundays during the school year providing Christian formation opportunities for teenagers and adults.
Grace Church founded one of the first kindergartens in Hopkinsville. Grace Church Kindergarten continues to provide quality education with a program for 3 and 4 year-olds and kindergarten for five year-olds from 8-12 Noon.
